David Russo

David Russo was a long-serving SHRM board member, and immediate past Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer, and liaison to the HR-XML Consortium.

Mr. Russo founded Eno River Associates in 2002, was CEO of Empliant, former executive VP of HR for BuildNet and VP of HR for SAS Institute (the world’s largest privately held software company).

His implementation and management of cutting-edge human resources programs brought SAS Institute national recognition as an innovator in providing and understanding the benefits of a quality work environment that supports work/life issues. Under his direction SAS Institute was named in Fortune magazine’s “Top Ten Best Companies To Work For” for four consecutive years, placed 10 times in Working Mother magazine’s “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” and received Work Force magazine’s “Optima” award for 1999.

Mr. Russo received SHRM’s 1999 Award for Professional Excellence. He also was recently named to HR Executive magazine’s HR Honor roll.

Mr. Russo received his master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his bachelor’s degree from Duquesne University.
